  • NO BUYS

The Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that he will not be making any buys on a permanent basis in the January transfer window because he does not have enough money. Hence, he will have to rely on loan deals in order to strengthen his squad.

David Moyes has always been content with the fact that he does not have a lot of money to spend. This situation has worsened recent years with the club has had a lot of financial difficulties, which have even restricted the ability to bring in replacements for players like Jack Rodwell who have left in the summer.
Everton are currently chasing for fourth spot in the Premier league, which will provide them with the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season.

The club has finished in fourth position only once in the last seven years. Hence, Moyes is extremely keen on grabbing this opportunity with both hands. Finishing in the Champions League group stages will be extremely beneficial for a club like Everton because of the revenues of a close to £ 30 million. Yet, for this season, the manager will not have any money to spend and will rely almost exclusively on loan deals.

“The chief executive has said there is a very small amount available. Maybe a couple of loans, if we could come up with them. Everton could be a platform for us — a difficult one but no more difficult than Manchester United last year (when Newcastle won 3-0). I feel that we can beat them. If you take November and December out, it was a great year. Unfortunately you can’t, so next year we have to put 12 good months together,” said the Everton manager. Moyes recently saw his team managed a 2-1 win over Newcastle, as they returned to winning ways.
