David Moyes has said that he is very proud of this current Everton team. The Toffees may have held Chelsea and Manchester United and beaten Liverpool and City this season but they have also faltered on a regular basis.

“We can compete at the top end but we haven’t been able to compete at the bottom,” said Moyes.

“We haven’t been able to beat the teams below us, especially at Goodison.”

He added: “But when it’s come to the bigger games we seem to respond to the challenge and we are a match for a lot of teams.”

Everton have been linked with bids for Robert Huth and Aaron Lennon in the January transfer window.

Everton manager David Moyes has said that he is not satisfied with the club’s draw against Wigan athletic. The Toffees had to settle with a goalless draw against Roberto Martinez’s men despite dominating most of the match.

But the failure to take maximum points leaves 15th placed Everton perilously close to the relegation zone.

Moyes has been linked with the Rangers and Celtic roles, but looks set to stay for now.

Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that he is set to offer a loan deal for David Beckham. Beckham recently finished the Major League Soccer season with the Los Angeles Galaxy, but he spent the last two winters on loan at Italian giants AC Milan in a bid to prove his form and fitness to England coach Fabio Capello.

The 35-year-old missed the World Cup after sustaining an Achilles tendon injury with Milan in March and said in September that he would not be joining another European side this season.

Moyes, though, said a loan deal from Everton would be easy to arrange and hinted that Everton skipper Phil Neville, a former team-mate of Beckham’s at Manchester United, could play a part in setting up the move.
