  • VAUGHAN LEAVES ON LOAN

    Everton striker James Vaughan has left the club on a loan deal to Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old spent three months at Selhurst Park at the start of the campaign, scoring five goals in 14 appearances for the Championship side.

    Palace will have the option of making the move permanent in the summer.

    Vaughan told the club website: “I’m really glad the move’s been completed. I’ll hopefully start training with the lads and playing soon.”

  • LEICESTER SIGN YAKUBU

    Leicester City have signed Everton striker Yakubu on a loan deal till the end of the season. Yakubu, 28, joins Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Championship side with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

    The Nigeria international told BBC Radio Leicester he was desperate to play first-team football.

    He added: “I’m ambitious and want to be in the Premier League. Leicester are a big club with a big manager. Hopefully we can get there next season.”

    Everton have been linked to various strikers to take Yakubu’s place, including Florent Malouda and Eduardo.
